SPCA Fiji - Help us assist the dogs and cats of Fiji.

Hello, my name is Camilla, and I am a veterinarian currently volunteering in Fiji. I am reaching out to you today to share an important cause that is very close to my heart. I am fundraising for the SPCA Fiji shelter and clinic in Suva, an organization that plays a critical role in providing care and support to the animals in our community.

As part of my volunteer work, I organize the collection of donations from Australia, including towels, toys, bowls, medications and parasite prevention. Additionally, I am involved in teaching vet students at the SPCA Fiji and assisting in the clinic and shelter wherever needed. The primary goal of my fundraising efforts is to enable the SPCA to purchase essential equipment that will greatly enhance the care we can provide to the animals of Fiji.

The shelter relies heavily on donations and must stretch every cent to make ends meet. Your support can make a significant impact.

Here are some of the key items we aim to purchase for the clinic and shelter:

1. **Oxygen Tent:** This will allow us to provide better emergency care to animals involved in vehicle accidents or those with critical, unstable medical conditions requiring oxygen therapy. Unfortunately, vehicle trauma incidents involving animals occur daily.

2. **Blood Pressure Machine:** An essential diagnostic and monitoring tool that will help us offer improved care to our medical and surgical cases.

3. **Blood Glucose Machine and Glucose Strips:** These are crucial diagnostic tools that will aid in the accurate assessment and treatment of our patients.

4. **Dog Exercise Area** Important to the welfare and health of our adult dogs in the shelter. They spend a large amount of their time in cages so a space to exercise will greatly enhance their time in the shelter.

After these purchases, any remaining funds will be used to contribute towards acquiring an ultrasound machine or other necessary equipment required by the SPCA Fiji.
