SPC4Life would like to thank all of those who supported our 24-Hour Virtual Event on October 24, 2020. Your donations have helped us tremendously, as we are staying the course to rebirth our Alma Mater. Realizing it takes a village of alumni, family and friends to reclaim and restore our beloved institution of higher learning, we need your continued support.
Remembering our background, Saint Paul’s College was founded in 1888 by Reverend James Solomon Russell, who was appointed as the first Archdeacon for Colored Work by the Diocese of Southern Virginia. Saint Paul’s College (Saint Paul’s) was a beacon of progress and advancement for African Americans for over a century and a valued citizen of Brunswick County and the Town of Lawrenceville. Hundreds of students, mostly first generation college graduates, gained academic degrees and learned work skills that allowed them to make an impact on their localities, states and the nation, and provided a living on which to realize the dream of all people of hope, heart and a purposeful life. Saint Paul’s, built on Christian principles, started as a normal and industrial school, with some of its historic buildings built by its very own students. It transcended to become a college that yield educators, military officers, public officials, state and federal leaders, pastors, scientists, entrepreneurs, etc. that brought hope to their families. However, sadly, Saint Paul’s College, struggled like many other Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and thus closed its doors in 2013 impacting the community at large.
Your donation helps the dedicated Alumni and friends of SPC4LIFE to reclaim our beloved Saint Paul’s College, and to restore its innovative educational curriculum to those who wish to further their education while creating a positive experience for its students, faculty, staff and community. The students will have an opportunity to become a catalyst for change in our diverse and competitive society.
Furthermore, millions are needed for the SPC4LIFE Rebirth and we are reaching out to those who have a heart for HBCU's. SPC4LIFE is dedicated to this mission and we thank you in advance for your investment in resurrecting the legacy of our dear Saint Paul’s College.
