Hello,
For those of you that don't know me I am 1LT David Macedo. I'm currently the maintenance platoon leader of Fox Company 186th BSB out of Quincy, MA. One of the Soldiers in our unit SPC Greg Kundicz was recently sent to the ER due to having a seizure on Tuesday November 27th. After a few brain scans it was determined the SPC Kundicz had a considerable brain tumor. On Friday the 30th he had a biopsy to determine if the tumor is benign and how they will proceed. Doctors said it'll take a couple weeks to get the results back but we are all crossing our fingers for him.

I'd like to explain the type of person/Soldier SPC Kundicz is and I think the best way to do that is tell a story about last years Annual Training at Fort Drum, NY. Unfortunately, during that training exercise maintenance Platoon had a lot of Soldiers at schools, but that was ok because we had SPC Kundicz, along with many other great Soldiers. SPC Kundicz stepped up and fulfilled a role above his rank. Everyday he was able to juggle personnel within his team, managing shop operations, and reaching out to the rest of the Battalion to see if they needed any maintenance support. For many SPC this can be a lot of work and become overbearing, but SPC Kundicz was effectively able to manage his team and help increase our maintenance readiness level over the course of Annual Training. I can remember a few nights in a row that I'd catch SPC Kundicz under a truck in the pitch black just so he could get it back to the units on the gun line. As you can see SPC Kundicz isn't afraid to get his hands dirty or to put in the long days to get the work done. He is an excellent individual and highly valuable asset to the Massachusetts Army National Guard.
Due to his condition SPC Kundicz won't be able to drive for at least six months and will likely be out of work. Being the holiday's the leadership at F Co wants to do something for SPC Kundicz, so all donations will go directly to him to help out with all the bills that he may incur during his recovery. I know it's a tough time of the year but any donation will help no matter how small.
I will update this page with any news that I get and please help us at Fox Company spread the word to help a Soldier out, feel free to share my link with friends, family, and any social media.
Very Respectfully,
1LT Macedo
