thank you all
Have 4 strays that were the runts of their litters, took them in and now getting them spayed neutered and vaccinated, $100 in Port Isabel, $50 in Mexico. Great result today
My name is Les Clements. Here in Harlingen our Humane Society does not have a veterinarian to spay/neuter and vaccinate any of the thousands of stray cats. There is a small group of us who nightly feed strays all over town. (One lady I met spends $60/ night feeding in 5 locations for years) We need to get them fed, spayed neutered and vaccinated. If they can't be adopted we will return them to where they were found. Adopted one runt abandoned by her mother and siblings, got her step brother, a 'gift' from a neighbor, neutered. They are getting along. This has become my social life.
I've spent thousands in the last year but can't afford to get them all fixed and vaccinated.
please help, I promise every dime will be spent properly. Petitioning the city to increase funding of the Humane Society. We have a model TNR ( Trap Neuter and Return ) law on the books but its not funded.
Les
I saw 'Lil Toot, the cover cat, 2 days ago and took her in to the vet yesterday almost comatose. There was nothing that could be done and she was sadly put down ($150!)
Haven't had to withdraw any of the donations yet, ( since have withdrawn for cat food, shared w the others) I'm feeding 3 groups 7 nights a week. Ive met 6 other people who have been feeding groups of strays all over town, some for years
