Spay & neuter clinic for Quimixto
Donation protected
Hello! In the small village of Quimixto south of Puerto Vallarta , there are many dogs and cats, and no veterinarian. The village is really only accessible by boat (panga) and it is difficult and very expensive for locals here to get their animals to a vet for needed care. We need to hold a spay/neuter clinic on site, which requires bringing a veterinary team from Vallarta. The last spay/neuter clinic here was 2 years ago so there is a strong need right now. In the past, up to 35 animals have been spayed or neutered in a day. This year, we may have need for a two-day clinic. Jacqueline Moore Cozzolino has led this effort and says: "My first clinic was to help a stray I knew of who had a litter of 10. I found homes for 7 (after having them all sterilized). I still have 3. They will be 4 years old in March. If this litter of 10 weren't rescued and sterilized I cannot even guess how many more strays would be here."
Please contribute and help Jackie, Jen, myself and others hold the spay neuter clinic this winter.
