Fur Get Me Not - dog rescue shelter

'SPAS' is a registered NGO for animal protection in Bosnia, run by selfless and warm-hearted volunteers and funded solely by donations of good people. They are the only lifeline for abandoned dogs, sadly left on the street and saved from near death from the local shelter. In the last seven years, they saved over 2,000 dogs, of which 1700 have been rehomed! Due to increased pet abandonment during COVID19, the space quickly became overcrowded and they are currently caring for 300 dogs squashed in 27 kennels and urgently need our help. I hold a great deal of compassion about the welfare of all animals and would like to support them to be protected from neglect and harm, as they solely depend on us. Together we can help SPAS provide proper care for the abandoned puppies, and nurse them to a healthier, happier life and create much better living conditions which in turn will increase the dogs' chances of finding a loving home.   Most of the dogs arrive at SPAS from the local animal shelter. This shelter is notorious and conditions are devastating. The dogs receive no care, are mis-treated and are put down after only one week if an owner doesn't come forward. Many of the other dogs are dropped off at the doorstep of SPAS, including puppies who are only a few days old. In addition to medical care, vaccinations and regular food supply, they are in a desperate need for more shelter, with their aim of building new kennels and quarantine spaces used for new unvaccinated puppies. It's heart-breaking to see the team try everything they can to shelter the puppies, but due to the lack of outbuildings, the dogs often end up exposed to too much sun or drenched in rain, flood, snow. On this occasion, I need your help to collect €6,000 for SPAS to help with these crucial builds which will pretty much change the shelter's and the puppies’ lives. The cost is high, but if everyone only gave even a small amount, we could do this!
