Spartan Race Against Colon Cancer
Donation protected
Hi My name is Rachelle and I am hoping to raise as much money as possible to give back to the places that helped my sister be as comfortable as possible in her last days.
"My big sister Chaz
She worked for the BBC as a broadcast journalist and was so proud to have had her own show.
She was the most formidable and amazing human being you could ever wish to have had the pleasure of knowing.
She was my best friend, the true definition of a great sister, mother, wife, daughter, and aunty.
She embodied kindness, love, joy and lived with an unmatched passion for life, embracing each day with unwavering enthusiasm and a radiant smile that could brighten even the darkest of days.
Chaz saw beauty in the simplest of moments and found joy in the everyday miracles that often go unnoticed.
Sadly, in her early 30’s Chaz was diagnosed with Colon Cancer back in 2018. Despite her best efforts, Chaz passed in June 2019.
This year will be the 5th year anniversary of her passing and in true Chaz fashion, her little boys Aiden and Elias have wanted to raise money for the people and places that loved on their mummy and fought tirelessly beside her.
So, in my bid to do just that, my best friend and I are undertaking a Spartan Race in May. A little ambitious I know and to be completely honest, I’m a little petrified but I know this is exactly what Chaz would have done. In fact, a few years before Chaz’s diagnosis, she ran a marathon in order to raise money for a close friend who was diagnosed with the same cancer.
Carrying on Chaz’s legacy, we would truly appreciate it if you would support us and donate to the places that helped my sister in her time of need.
I am raising money for the Cynthia Spencer Hospice in Northampton.
The members of staff there went above and beyond to look after not just Chaz but the whole family during Chaz’s last days. This token of our appreciation cannot begin to match what they did for my family but we hope it helps them continue bringing peace to others who find themselves there.
Chaz’s spirit was a testament to the power of love and the profound impact one soul can have on the world. Though she may no longer walk beside us, her presence continues to illuminate our hearts, reminding us to cherish every moment, to spread kindness like confetti, and to live each day with the same zest for life that she embodied.
Please do donate and follow my training updates as I embark on this journey."
We not only hope to help and support Cynthia Spencer Hospice, but also Basingstoke & North Hampshire Hospital and build a bench in Chaz's Memory.
We hope you help us make the above a reality.
