Hi! My name is Edward Phipps, and I'm in my final year of my Digital Television Production degree course. For my final major project, I'm creating a 20 minute film called Sparks.

After spotting his ex at a party, a hopeless romantic tries to convince his protective friends to let him win him back. Through flashbacks, conversation, and brutal honesty, we unravel a beautiful fantasy from a disappointing reality, and learn the truth about their relationship.

Sparks is a tender, intimate short about how we project love, survive its absence, and find meaning in letting go. It’s a story about emotional agency, limerence, and the quiet moments that shape who we become. As a final-year Television Production student, this is my major project, the culmination of three years of study, training, and storytelling. We’re already deep into pre-production: the script is nearly finalised, a director and producer are attached, and casting begins soon.

The funds raised will go directly toward cast, locations, props, set decoration, and food and transport for our team across four shoot days. Filmmaking is expensive, and there’s no way we can do this without your support.
