I am a teacher and tennis coach at Sparks High School. We recently had theft of equipment occur at our school which is unprecedented especially when our kids already need other supplies like uniforms.

In my first year coaching tennis, I gained appreciation for how this sport brought about a sense of community. Tennis has created many opportunities for these student athletes to grow and thrive.

New uniforms for both the boys and the girls tennis teams are essential for the upcoming tennis season.

We have student athletes wearing mismatched uniforms that aren’t in their sizes because we have been in high-need of new uniforms for several years now. A full uniform (top and bottom) is around $60+

To provide each student athlete with a new uniform, we are looking around $1500 for uniforms alone.

With this is mind, it was heartbreaking to recently find that there was theft that occurred at our school. Bolts from our storage units were cut and it has resulted in the theft of over 10 tennis rackets. If we look at the average cost of a decent racket, we are looking at roughly $50, making replacing all that was taken about $500+, not including the storage bags that were taken!

I am asking for any amount which can help us facilitate replacing the equipment our students need, help us get uniforms. Any additional donations will help fund extra practice tennis balls, sunscreen, water, snacks.
