Hi everyone! My name is Isik Karli, and I am an aspiring PhD student in the rising field of Psychometrics. Psychometrics is the invigorating field at the intersection of psychology and statistics. It is the science of evaluation, measurement, impact management and quantifying all the human aspects that go into business, wellness, social development and everything else:)

I am going to start a 3 year PhD program in this amazing new field at Hull University in England. I have a scholarship that covers my last two years, but I am raising money to cover my tuition expenses for the first year of my studies. My family has already committed half of my financial needs. I am trying to raise the rest.

Academic studies and research have always been my greatest goal. I am a graduate of Koc University in Istanbul Turkey with a double major in History and Psychology and I am currently finishing my masters program in global health. When I added psychology as my second major, I realized I found my calling. Psychometrics combined my passion for psychology and human behavior with my natural knack for quantitative measurement and math. If I can find the funds to start my studies I will be studying with one of the pioneers of this new field.

I also have a passion for civil society and social change. I participated in TWI's signature leadership program for young university women in Turkey during the pandemic. Since then I have been volunteering for the program and as a volunteer, I used my psychometrics background to develop the measurement and evaluation used in the program. I was an active participant in the development of the change theory underlining the program. For the last two years I developed the evaluation tools used to measure the social impact of the program and I have executed them and written the reports.

Every contribution, big or small, will makes a real impact in helping me reach my academic goals. Even just a few dollars can help get me closer to Hull University and the PhD program.
