WHAT?
Canstruction Boston is an annual event during which Architects, Engineers, Contractors, Designers, and Students create giant sculptures of canned goods
to be donated to those in need. The designs are voted upon for various awards and put on display at the Boston Society of Architects. Afterwards all cans are donated to the Merrimack Valley Food Bank. Over the years, 882,000 pounds of food has been collected.

WHY?
Canstruction is a unique food charity and is one of the largest contributors to food banks in the world. With 140 cities world-wide holding design/build competitions, Canstruction has donated over 20 million pounds of canned food to alleviate the scourge of hunger and malnutrition. Canstruction’s mission is to highlight the issue of hunger across communities, collect food for distribution to thousands and to showcase the creativity of the design industry.

HOW?
To create 2016’s design for Journey into Space. Our Space Canvaders sculpture will require around 2,500 cans.We are asking for donations to fund the purchase of these cans that will serve as sculptural elements, and then more importantly as a nourishment for those in need.
