Rebuilding Strength, Heart and Spirit: Supporting Spa Teams After Hurricane Melissa

Hi, my name is Linda Hall. I’m an International Spa & Wellness Consultant based in the UK, and I’m fundraising for the incredible, passionate, and beautiful spa teams who work at two wonderful hotels in Negril, Jamaica.

I’ve had the pleasure and pride of being their spa consultant for many years. They are an amazing group of people who create spa magic every single day — passionate, dedicated, and loyal. My time spent with them always makes my heart sing. Many of us have worked together since I first created Rockhouse Spa 20 years ago and Skylark Beach Hotel Spa 7 years ago.

Recently, Jamaica was devastated by a brutal Category 5 hurricane. I was there and witnessed first-hand the destruction it caused — homes torn apart, lives upended, and communities struggling to recover. This wasn’t my first hurricane; I lost everything in Hurricane Ivan in 2004, but this one was truly catastrophic.

Despite the devastation, my teams have shown incredible strength, resilience, and compassion — supporting one another and their communities through the storm. Now, it’s our turn to support them.

When I asked the teams, “What would have helped most if we had known how bad Hurricane Melissa would be?”

the answers were simple and practical:

• A home generator – to have power for safety, communication, and basic needs.

• A decked roof – to strengthen homes and provide secure shelter for families.

These are not luxuries — they are lifelines.

Your donation will go directly toward helping the spa team rebuild, prepare, and protect their homes and families for the future. Any contribution toward helping each team member purchase a home generator will make an incredible difference.

With climate change, stronger hurricanes are sadly becoming the new normal — but with your help, they don’t have to mean total loss.
