Opal is a beautiful 3-year-old Cane Corso with the sweetest soul you could ever meet. From the moment she came into our lives, she’s been nothing but pure love — loyal, gentle, playful, and so full of light. She’s the kind of dog that changes everyone she meets — the one who greets you with those big, kind eyes and a heart full of love no matter what kind of day you’re having.

Opal has always been such a happy, social girl — she loves everyone and everything. Whether it’s cuddling up on the couch, greeting her favorite people at the door, or wagging her tail when she hears her name, she’s always been full of life and joy. Seeing that light dim has been absolutely heartbreaking.

Lately, Opal has been facing some serious and painful health challenges. She’s having a lot of trouble moving around and is clearly in pain. Despite multiple vet visits and tests, we still don’t have clear answers about what’s wrong. More tests and ongoing treatments are needed to find out what’s happening and how to help her.

Watching her struggle just to get up or walk — when not long ago she was running and playing without a care — has been devastating. It’s so hard to see such a gentle soul in pain and not be able to fix it right away. She looks at me with those trusting eyes, still wagging her tail through the pain, and all I want is to give her the comfort and care she deserves.

Opal is family. She’s not “just a dog” — she’s a best friend, a protector, and a source of unconditional love. She has given so much happiness to everyone around her, and now it’s our turn to be there for her when she needs us most.

She adores everyone she meets, but the bond she shares with her dad is something truly special — the kind of connection that defines “a man’s best friend.” They’ve been inseparable from day one. Whether it’s early morning walks, car rides with the windows down, or simply lying side by side after a long day, they’ve always been each other’s comfort and joy. Watching that bond now, through these difficult times, is both heartbreaking and beautiful — she still looks at him with the same love and trust, even through her pain.
