I write this with a heavy heart. It’s not ever easy to ask anyone for help. I don’t think anyone wants to be in this position, but unfortunately this is where we are right now. While this is just the beginning, we’ve quickly seen how expensive this journey is going to be.

Joe works nonstop. He leaves Sunday morning, gets home Friday afternoon/night, and then leaves Sunday morning again. It is obviously hard on him and our family as a whole. He’s home about one day a week, and that has taken a toll on his body. While I wish more than anything that he could be home, he doesn’t make enough money driving locally.

Joe was admitted into the ICU with diabetic ketoacidosis this weekend and is going to need to miss work to sort out his medical needs, but we can’t afford for him to do that unless we have some help. Not to mention paying for all the new medical supplies and medication when all of our bills are due and the medical bills that will be coming our way after this hospital stay. His new prescriptions and first doctors visit alone are hundreds of dollars. He also has to get something for work that will make traveling with insulin and his dietary needs safe.

I know he’s feeling a huge burden with all of this on his shoulders. Let’s come together to help him be able to heal and be able to afford to get better.
