Support Jeff's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
Nash and Walker, Jeff’s two sons, have decided to share their father’s journey in the hope of raising awareness about his current health struggles.

In August 2024, Jeff was diagnosed with stage 4 renal cancer. His health began to significantly decline in April, prompting him to seek medical advice. After visiting Ascension Hospital and undergoing numerous tests, his blood work revealed several abnormalities, leading to further testing, including CT scans and biopsies, which confirmed the devastating diagnosis.

Securing an oncologist became an immediate priority. After consulting with both the University of Michigan (U of M) and Ascension, Jeff chose to proceed with U of M’s care. His oncologists emphasized that he faced a long and challenging path before he could even begin treatment. Over the past several months, Jeff’s condition has worsened, resulting in frequent hospital admissions, weekly blood tests, and bi-weekly blood transfusions. Despite these measures, his body struggles to maintain stable levels, and he deals with persistent nausea, fatigue, and restlessness.

As Jeff’s cancer became more aggressive, his doctors expressed concern about whether he would be strong enough to tolerate the treatment. However, they decided to administer a targeted therapy specific to renal cancer, which has a high success rate. Recently, Jeff received the hopeful news that his blood levels are now stable enough to begin treatment. The plan is to gradually increase the dosage over the next few months.

Along with his physical challenges, Jeff is also facing significant emotional and financial strain. As the owner of Salon Head West, the weight of these circumstances has been incredibly difficult. Jeff has always been deeply passionate about running his salon and seeing his staff and clients daily. Over the past 41 years of running his business, he has come to consider his staff and clients as family. With Jeff currently unable to work, Nash, Walker, and his incredible team—Rosie, Maia, and Patt—have stepped in to help manage the salon and continue supporting the clientele. Through faith and prayer, Jeff’s health is beginning to improve. Him and his team are very excited to get him back to the salon and doing what he does best!

The decision to share Jeff’s story is motivated by the love Nash and Walker have for their father, and their recognition that many others also care deeply for him. Through this difficult time, they’ve realized how much of an impact Jeff has had on others. They want to provide an opportunity for people to reach out to him personally and show their support. It’s been heartbreaking to see Jeff, who has always been a happy, energetic, and caring person, struggle with the emotional toll of his illness.

The goal of this GoFundMe campaign is twofold:

Emotional Support: To give others the chance to express their love and care for Jeff, and for those who may not be aware of his situation to learn about it and stand by him during this difficult journey.

Financial Support: To allow Jeff to focus on his health and alleviate stress by helping cover medical and non-medical expenses that have accumulated during his time away from work.

We will provide updates on Jeff’s health and progress as his treatment continues. Please keep Jeff and his family in your thoughts and prayers. We also encourage you to share this campaign with your friends and family so we can come together and support Jeff during this challenging time.
