It is with great saddness that my family has to write this. We thought 3 years ago would be the start of a new happy healthy life for Patti, when she received her life saving double lung transplant, with the help of many friends and family and even strangers we were able to do a fundraiser to help Patti suceed in getting the help finacially she needed ti make it happen.
Patti received her first transplant Dec 24th 2013, Patti surpassed all expectations of all doctors with her surgery. We thought Patti was on her way to a happy healthy new life. As months passed Patti noticed that her health started to decline, after many admissions to the hospital with infections Patti needed to go back on oxygen 24 hrs a day 7 days a week.
After many tests we got the devastating news that Patti is in chronic rejection and would need a second double lung transplant to live so with that being said this is why myself and my family are here, with this being the second transplant it is a more risky and lengthy surgery.
Patti is going to need our help again, physically, emotionally, and financially. Patti needs all her strength to be focused mentally on getting through this, The finacial burden on Patti during this procedure is very stressful as well as very costly, Patti will have to travel to Downtown Toronto 3 times a week for months to prepare her physically for the surgery. As well Patti will also need new medical equipment after surgery to ensure she is stable at home.
We as her family will do all we can to help but we all need to come together once more for her if anyone reading this is able to share and/or donate to her if you are finacially able to do so, even sending her well wishes would be greatly appreciated. Patti is ready and willing to fight with everything she has and Patti is going to need all the help she can get from all of us
