Hello, I am the son of Conchita Hernández Tejeda, and I deeply appreciate your time. My mom, at 64 years old, enjoyed a fulfilling life as a wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. However, since August 2024, she has been facing a harsh reality: she was diagnosed with an endocarcinogenic tumor in the head of her pancreas.

To save her life, she urgently needs a Whipple surgery, a high-risk procedure that represents the difference between living and not. Watching my mother fight this disease has been the hardest thing I have ever experienced.

Her life began to change a year ago when she started feeling stomach pains. After multiple consultations and misdiagnoses, she underwent an emergency ERCP that revealed blockages in her bile ducts. After numerous tests, the tumor was confirmed.

When we went to IMSS, the oncological surgeon told us that the only option to eliminate the cancer is the Whipple surgery, but he also mentioned some terrifying statistics: an 85% chance of not surviving the surgery due to its complexity. We sought a second opinion and contacted a specialist in this operation, who indicated a mortality rate of 2%. The total cost of the operation amounts to $65,000 dlls.

The first step is to start chemotherapy to reduce the size of the tumor; after the therapy, my mom can be operated on. Every day that passes is a constant struggle against pain and weakness.

This situation affects not only her; our family also suffers watching her condition. We want her to regain her health so we can continue sharing moments together, to see her granddaughters grow up, and to be an active part of their lives. That’s why I sincerely ask for your help.

Al acudir al IMSS, el cirujano oncólogo nos comentó que la única opción para eliminar el cáncer es la cirugía de Whipple, pero también mencionó unas estadísticas aterradoras: un 85% de posibilidades de no resistir la cirugía debido a su complejidad. Hemos buscado una segunda opinión y contactamos a un especialista en esta operación, quien nos indicó una tasa de mortalidad del 2%. El primer paso es iniciar una terapia de quimioterapia para reducir el tamaño del tumor, después de la terapia mi mamá podrá ser operada. Cada día que pasa es una lucha constante contra el dolor y la debilidad.
