Southern New Mexico Unsolved Murders

Southern New Mexico Unsolved Murders was founded in April 2021 to highlight cold case homicides and disappearances in Grant County.

We received our first grant of $2,000 from Grant County CrimeStoppers last year when the organization disbanded and distributed the funds in their account.

Southern New Mexico Unsolved Murders is trying to raise at least $10,000 to fund the following:

• An anonymous tip line through We Tip, a California-based organization that works with law enforcement to relay anonymous tips to help solve criminal cases. The system includes a telephone number and internet form that the public can submit tips to anonymously. (Approximately $2,500 annually)

• One year’s rent on a billboard on Highway 180 with the tip line number and faces of the victims to remind everyone that they are still missing. (Approximately $3,500)

• Vinyl to print the design for billboard (Approximately $1,000)

• Rewards for individuals who provide tips that lead to an arrest or the location of the remains of David Ortiz, Jr. or Antoinette “Toni” Padilla (Approximately $5,000 per reward)

• T-shirts and hats with the Southern New Mexico Unsolved Murders logo, tip line, and faces of the victims. ($500-$1,000)

• Annual website and domain name renewals through Squarespace and GoDaddy ($331.50 for website, $20 domain name)

Donations are tax-deductible as we are a registered nonprofit with the IRS and New Mexico Secretary of State.
