Fairdale Youth League competes in the Babe Ruth League for Youth Softball. We are a blue collar community of players, parents and volunteers that work hard to give our young athletes the best opportunities available. Our league is one of the smallest programs in the Kentucky Babe Ruth Division. Fairdale was very fortunate to send a team to the Babe Ruth World Series in 2014 thanks to the generous donations from friends, family and businesses in the area. Since 2014, Fairdale has only been able to compete in the Babe Ruth Tournament a few times. Starting last year, a group of hardworking girls ages 12-14 began their first trip to the Babe Ruth State and Regional Tournaments. It was their first shot at competing at a high level of softball. They finished 4th in State and 4th in the Regional. This year, that group has came back strong. They just finished runner up in the State Tournament and was almost Champion by just one run. They outscored their opponents 73-25 and had the #1 seed. This past weekend they competed in the Ohio Valley Regional which consists of teams from Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin and West Virginia. Fairdale went undefeated during pool play earning the #1 seed again and finished the tournament undefeated as Ohio Valley Regional Champions! The girls have now earned a birth to the Babe Ruth World Series in Jensen Beach, Florida. But, we need help in donations for cost of travel and lodging for a 9 day experience unlike no other. The players will learn the history of Babe Ruth Softball, compete in USA Salute to Service games and ultimately fight for the title of World Series Champions. Not bad for a South End Proud community. Any donation will help as we are reaching out to make this dream happen and give hope to future athletes in the Fairdale community!
