In March of 2025, the Board of Boosters for the Pride of Southaven band were notified by officials that a balance was due from one of the fundraisers the band was working with. After a lack of a satisfactory response from the treasurer, a cursory audit was conducted. During said audit, it was discovered that a large sum of cash was missing, as well as other funds were mishandled and misused, violating the Bylaws of the booster club. An emergency board meeting was conducted and with a unanimous vote, the treasurer was removed from their position. The Boosters immediately filed a report with Southaven PD. The board has updated the Bylaws to include stricter safeguards to significantly reduce the likelihood of this unfortunate incident from happening again. It is unfortunate that a parent, a board member, and someone that was considered a friend would betray everyone's trust by stealing from the students, but this is where we need your help. The funds that were stolen would have paid for several events and functions our students were so excited to experience this year. If you find it in your heart to donate, we thank you.
