Southampton Vampire By Night

Southampton Vampire by Night is a new international LARP currently in development. The game will use the Minds Eye Theatre Rules, with some added extras to allow the game to be played both live and Play by Mail on our forums.
The game will be set in 1999 and allow players to play through the events that happened during this time, found within Vampire The masquerade lore.
Players will get to play as either Sabbat or Camarilla, as the factions fight over control of Southampton. The sides will need to gain control of key locations and call on the aid of kindred from around the world to help them.
The live games will be held in some breath-taking locations, found within the city and surrounding area. The game will have a strong emphasis on costume, with help and guidance being given to newer players to help bring their characters to life.
Speaking of new players, we are putting a lot of focus into helping new players get into the hobby with clan guides, new player guides, tutorials, workshops and many more aids to help bring a new generation into LARP.
One of main focuses of the game will also be, to promote the local history of Southampton. At the end of each year, we will give our players the option to donate to local historical societies. We understand that there are a lot of good causes, that require funding in the world and we here at Southampton Vampire by Night want to help some of these. The game will be a non for profit organisation with all club funds being spent or donated at the end of each year.
We are aiming to make this game playable by as many people as possible. So, we have included a means for the general public to get involved by hunting down vampires through Geocaching. Vampires sometimes leave clues to their existence and our local hunter Samual Poynder is keen to bring their existence into the light of day. These masquerade breaches will be created by player actions or inaction.
The international element of the game will take place over the forums and city map. By gaining control of the city, they unlock some truly powerful abilities / power plays. They can use these to try and gain even more control of the city or remove control from others. They may be safe from physical attack but trying to keep their identity a secret from the world, may prove to be to hard for some. International players will be constantly fighting to gain power, while keeping themselves hidden. It should be a very interesting way of playing Vampire The Masquerade.
When the game goes live, we plan to run one game a month with a total of 6 per faction. Players will need to choose what side they wish to be on and then attend their factions six games. That is of course unless they wish to sneak into the other factions’ courts.

The project is ambitious and there are some large expenses coming up that we can not afford without your help.
At this stage I have invested £1741.61 and through Patreon raised a further $378 dollars. This money has been used to purchase / complete the following:

Using Fiverr, I wish to continue sourcing professional writers to create plot lines for the game. This will of course be alongside voluntary plot writers.
From the estimated costs you can see that the project requires more funding than £3000, but this money will allow the games development to be completed.
We plan to launch with as many features ready as possible but with out your help and support we won’t be able to continue with the games development.
With £3000 Southampton Vampire By Night can continue development and be launched in 2020.
