After several years of bringing energy, passion and all-around great vibes to the creative entertainment industry, Radio Host and Presenter Remi Burgz is launching a new initiative to bring energy to the homes of those most in need!

At the beginning of Remi’s career she spent a lot of her time worried about the management of bills for her South East London council flat. It was then she came face-to-face with the financial challenges of heating and powering a home.

Remi isn’t alone

Almost 10 million households across the UK are living in cold, damp and poorly insulated homes, while not earning enough to be able to make improvements to them. Across Southwark, 9.9% of the population are living in fuel poverty with percentages rising to 10.8% in Lambeth.

This December, Remi Burgz in collaboration with ourppls, plans to leverage her online platform as a national media personality and well-beloved public figure to raise £30,000 to power just over 200 homes (with priority Lambeth and Southwark) across the Winter period.

We're hoping we can donate up to £140 per household, split evenly across gas and electric, which should cover small council flat homes for up to 1-2 weeks.

Funds will be distributed fairly across race, gender and sexual orientation, with applicants supplying proof of their current meters and other short qualifying questions.
