The only U.S. team at the WER China Open!



Our award winning robotics team are champions here in the US (Aug 2019),  and just earned First Prize in the China Open of the WER (World Educational Robotics) contest (Oct 2019).  We are a young team who has a goal of showing what South LA kids can do when they have the opportunity.

Will you help us attend the WER World Championship in Shanghai?

Team USA kept plenty of local spectators as they progressed through Round 1 of the WER China Open.  Even still, they kept their focus and secured a First Prize award. (October 25, 2019)



The FUNDING

We are raising funds to help four students (+ parents) and 2 coaches to attend the World Championship in China for the International WER Robotics competition from December 12-18.  We have secured partial (50%) funding for our accommodations, but are seeking additional funding toward complete accommodations, all flight tickets, airport transportation and travel documents for 2 people.

The COMPETITION

Team USA has accepted entry to the WER World Championship contest in Shanghai, China this December. Three students will compete by completing four programming challenges. Three additional surprise challenges will be given to the students in Shanghai as well. Students will also deliver a (new) presentation on artificial intelligence.   Over 20 countries will have contestants attending this competition. We look forward to cheering our students on as they join their fellow competitors, show their collaborative spirit and correspond with global peers.

These students are part of our south Los Angeles based Robotics Club which provides STEAM and Robotics instruction in areas where students lack regular access to these important classes.  We believe all students should have regular access to high quality STEAM instruction.  These students have proven that you can surpass all expectations if you put your mind to it.  Now let's show them how much support they have!
