Favorite Quote – “Dingers for days”
Joey Villareal AKA “The Captain” is our starting catcher and stud blocker behind the dish. He also has a cannon of an arm and once he throws out someone that dare tries to steal a bag on him, that team is no longer in such a hurry to do so again! Joey has also quickly become one of the biggest mashers on our team racking up countless homeruns in our last few tournaments. He is an absolute beast and a proven leader on our team. His favorite baseball team is the Los Angeles Dodgers and his favorite player is Buster Posey (hmmm, is he truly a Dodger fan??). When he is not playing baseball, he likes to hang out with his friends. He likes to listen to rap music and his favorite food is a nice juicy steak. Joey is an Honor Roll student and his favorite subject is English. In 10 years, Joey sees himself being a catcher in the MLB. His favorite Tides moment was just last month when his team won the Super NIT Arizona Spring Training tournament and being named MVP of the tournament. When we asked him what it means to him to play in Cooperstown he did not hesitate to say “it means a lot to play in Cooperstown.”

His favorite player is none other than Javi Baez. When he is not playing or thinking about baseball (which is never), he enjoys playing MLB The Show on his PlayStation to relax. His favorite food is any type of taco and he enjoys listening to Rap music. Owen is an Honor Roll student and his favorite subject is English. In ten years, Owen dreams of playing baseball in the MLB. We asked Owen what his favorite Tides moment was and he said “our 10u run in the International World Series.” Owen watched his big brother play in Cooperstown a couple of years ago, so he knows how much fun it would be to play in Cooperstown.
