Amilia a 10 ans. C’est une petite fille brillante, drôle, curieuse et pleine de vie. Elle aime la mode, le design, la danse, et surtout passer du bon temps avec ses amies. Elle a ce petit éclat unique qui illumine une pièce dès qu’elle y entre.

Ses enseignantes la décrivent comme une élève attachante, toujours avide d’apprendre. À l’hôpital, les infirmières l’ont vite surnommée « la petite avocate de l’unité d’oncologie » parce qu’elle pose mille questions et veut tout comprendre de ce qui lui arrive.

Elle a aussi un frère et une sœur, qui vivent cette épreuve à leur manière. Chaque jour, ils doivent composer avec l’absence de leur sœur, celle de leurs parents, l’anxiété, et le déséquilibre que cette nouvelle réalité impose à toute la famille.

Tout a commencé quand Amilia a commencé à se sentir anormalement fatiguée. Elle n’avait plus son énergie habituelle, s’essoufflait au moindre effort… Et très vite, les examens ont confirmé ce que personne ne voulait imaginer.

Du jour au lendemain, tout a changé.

Le verdict est tombé : leucémie lymphoblastique aiguë à haut risque.

C’est un mot qu’aucun parent ne devrait avoir à entendre.

Un combat qu’aucun enfant ne devrait mener.

Depuis, la vie de la famille est entièrement bouleversée.

Le traitement est un long parcours – deux ans et demi – même quand tout se passe “sans complications”. Il demande de nombreux séjours à l’hôpital, des traitements lourds, des rendez-vous constants… et surtout, une présence en tout temps auprès d'Amilia.

Ses parents ont fait un choix difficile, mais évident : mettre leur vie professionnelle en pause, pour être là, chaque jour, à ses côtés. C’est un choix du cœur.

Mais ce choix vient avec un poids financier que personne ne peut porter seul, aussi fort soit-il.

Amilia is 10 years old. She's a bright, funny, curious, and full-of-life little girl. She loves fashion, design, dancing, and most of all, spending time with her friends. She has that special spark that lights up any room she walks into.

Her teachers describe her as a lovable student, always eager to learn. At the hospital, the nurses quickly nicknamed her “the little lawyer of the oncology unit” because she asks a thousand questions and wants to understand everything that’s happening to her.

She also has a brother and a sister, who are each going through this experience in their own way. Every day, they deal with the absence of their sister, their parents, the anxiety, and the upheaval this new reality has brought to their family.

It all started when Amilia began feeling unusually tired. She no longer had her usual energy and was out of breath with even the slightest effort... And very quickly, tests confirmed what no one wanted to imagine.

From one day to the next, everything changed.

The diagnosis came in: high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

It’s a word no parent should ever have to hear.

A battle no child should ever have to fight.

Since then, the family's life has been completely turned upside down.

The treatment is a long road — two and a half years — even when everything goes “without complications.” It requires countless hospital stays, intensive treatments, constant appointments… and, above all, a full-time presence by Amilia’s side.

Her parents made a difficult but obvious choice: to pause their professional lives so they can be there for her, every single day. It’s a choice made out of love.

But it also comes with a financial burden that no one can carry alone, no matter how strong.
