Source Point's herbal fund - Help Us Help You!

Hi, my name is Graeme.

I am passionate about Chinese Medicine! 

I love how it is a profound, effective and integrative system that gets great results with no or little side-effects.

I am running the Camino de Santiago to raise money, to support Source Point Community Health CIC, so that we can stock our new dispensary with herbs and other perishable items.  

I ask that you help me to raise the funds needed to support the health of the rural Devon community I serve.


My Story - The Clinic
In 2013, with the help of Tom Hirons, I realised my dream of setting up a multi bed acupuncture service. It is a ward style clinic that makes the Chinese medicine I offer more affordable and therefore more accessible to all who want or need it. 

We called this revolutionary clinic Source Point Community Health CIC, it’s a Cooperative, grass roots not-for-profit social enterprise that has helped thousands of people get and stay well. 

Over the past 7 years, Source Point has evolved to offer all of the modalities of Chinese Medicine, namely: Acupuncture, Massage, Herbs and Exercise. We now have 4 highly skilled and committed practitioners, and a bank of fantastic locums who cover when needed. 

In 2018, twenty years after my initial acupuncture, massage and Chinese Medicine training, I decided to take a leap of faith and start the long and hard 3-year journey towards being a herbalist with the White Crane Academy. 

This has been one of the hardest things I have ever done and I love it!
The effectiveness of the herbs is mind-blowing, I have enjoyed learning about them and using them under the supportive hand of my supervisors. 

Inspired by my renewed wonder for herbs, Source Point is in the process of changing the way we offer this service. 


My Story - The Run
I always hated running, at school I would do everything I could to get out of it! 
10 years ago, I got a dog, he is half collie, half lurcher. I realised pretty quickly he needed more exercise than I could give him walking - Graeme the runner was born! 
Over this time, I have grown to enjoy and could even say like running. 
I got the idea to run the Camino de Santiago by watching 'The Way’ a film about the journey of four individuals walking the Camino de Santiago. 

In December 2019 my father died, I have wanted to take time out to be with my grief, it was the idea of a pilgrimage, a long journey where I could have time during the 100's of miles to feel the shift and be 'with' him, that has inspired this pilgrimage.  
Well and the need to get Source Point some hard cash for herbs for our new dispensary!!!


Source Point's New Herbal Service
We are in the process of setting up a new herbal dispensary to make our service better, more affordable and to continue offering effective herbal medicine regardless of income. 

By changing the way we do things, we will be able to offer a more comprehensive dispensary service, offering both Western and Chinese medicinals for a huge range of conditions and health maintenance, whilst keeping the herbs at a low price point.

To achieve this we have invested in new infrastructure and equipment. 
We need your help to buy all the herbs!

This is a major investment with over 300 dried herbs and 150 tinctures, as well as all of the stock needed to run the dispensary. 

This fund is for the 'perishable' items we need to excel in offering you one of the best clinic based herbal services in the UK. 

We are hoping to buy the herbs in November, once the dispensary is ready to go.
