Ciao Everyone! My name is Cristina and I am the owner and founder of Healthy Italia, an Italian Market place and Cooking school located in Madison, NJ.
In 2018 Healthy Italia has decided to partnered with Soup Sisters, a non-profit charitable social enterprise dedicated to providing comfort to women, children and youth through the making, sharing and donating of soup.
The concept is simple. Soup Sisters hold year-round programs where each participant pays a registration fee to join in a soup-making event at Healthy Italia state-of-art kitchen under the guidance of one of our cooking instructors. Each event produces approximately 150-200 servings (64 liters) of nourishing soup that are delivered fresh to a local shelter. Events are social evenings with lively conversation, chopping, laughter and warm kitchen camaraderie that culminate in a simple, sit-down supper of soup, salad, bread and wine for all participants.
Anyone can be a Soup Sister and a Broth Brother and usually we would ask you to join us in one of our soup-making session. But during this difficult pandemic time, while we wait to be able to be back in the kitchen together to prepare hundreds of litres of soup to women shelters, you can still help us!
Healthy Italia will make the soups and donate the time and the facility to produce them and You can support this project with donations that will cover the cost of the ingredients.
Our goal is to donate a batch of 64 liters of soups twice a month.
Help us to continue to warm up hearts with a soup. We really want people in needs to know that WE CARE.
With Love, Cristina
