Hello Music Lovers! Hello Bay Area! We are a group of student Filmmakers from Ohlone Community College in Fremont working to create a documentary about the music scene and working class musicians in the bay! We are currently seeking funding in order to support the drivers in our crew and reimburse them for their mileage, as well as to cover the cost of attending events, so as to allow us to cast as wide a net as possible, and gather as much footage as we possibly can.

Our Mission:
Being a working class musician in the Bay can be a double-edged sword, simultaneously freeing and expressive yet grueling and demanding. This documentary will be about how they balance the two, the fall and creation of third spaces, and the importance of building a community in the Bay. From solo creators just doing a hobby, to popular indie artists, bands and producers in the Bay Area, we want to understand more about the culture, the struggles artists face here, and what makes them keep on creating in a place that’s so saturated and competitive.
We will not only interview musicians, but venue hosts, producers, audience members, security- everyone that is involved in the community. We will ask them about the culture and etiquette, and if their efforts are worth the output.
The Bay Area is a salad bowl of diverse genres, each influential in their own way. We will put a spotlight on working class musicians and show our audience what their everyday lives can contain.
