Golden Sun: The Lost Age (Album Distribution Fees)

Now that Golden Sun: The Lost Age (TLA) has finally had an official soundtrack release on Nintendo Music, it is once again possible to release licensed music arrangements & covers to streaming services! :D

Since the announcement, I have been working hard on re-mastering all of the 42 TLA arrangements I'd created, bringing them closer to my current high standard of quality. Some had not been updated in 8 years!

After several weeks of work, all of the tracks are now polished and ready for release. But the final step is the distribution cost with the platform I use to release music on streaming services (Soundrop).

Unfortunately the cost to distribute music via Soundrop has increased by 500% as of August 2025, increasing from $0.99 per track to $4.99 per track. For my previous Golden Sun album , I covered this using my own funds (~$40).

Now those fees are ~$210 (approx. £155)

(42 x $4.99 x 0.75 conversion rate)

Alternate distributors are no better, with Distrokid charging $1 per month per cover ($42 per month!), Landr charging $15 per cover ($630), and CDBaby no longer licensing cover songs at all.

The updated tracks are all ready to be released (here is a sneaky preview!) - I would be extremely grateful for any help in covering the increased distribution fees. Let's get more of Golden Sun's music into the world for all to hear! :)

Any additional funding will help cover the commissioning of new album art from the excellent Neshirys, as well as arranging an additional TLA track I have not yet covered.
