The SoulFire Project - No Borders

Donation protected
8 years.
30,000 miles.
3,750 gallons of recycled vegetable oil.
The SoulFire bus has braved the Caribbean sea and reached a new continent!

Our relentless passion and musical efforts are what have sustained this project over these last 8 years. We have welcomed more than 100 individuals representing 23 countries into the SoulFire family. Our music has allowed us to share the spirit and movement of SoulFire through song. From the streets to the stage, it is the vehicle with which we express our concerns, our gratitude, our solidarity and our joy.

This spring in the Sierra Nevada mountains of Colombia, The SoulFire Project (SFP) will record a new album. No Borders is a collaborative effort that erases the imaginary lines that try to divide us. Mixing Cumbia, Reggae, Punk, and Afro-latin rhythms with conscious lyrics and sailing harmonies, these songs will have you dancing and singing along with us in English, Spanish and even Portuguese! In true SoulFire style, our lyrics are always accompanied by positive action and outreach through sustainably focused events, projects and collaborations like these:

-DIY Water Wheel Gives Light to Family

-Bicycle Washing Machine

Our mission with this album: No Borders will be a 10-song, collaborative work with which we plan to accomplish two goals;

Our first goal is to produce a contemporary montage of The SoulFire Project’s musical evolution over these last 8 years throughout Mexico and Central America, bringing this inspirational musical journey to all of you who support us, and to those we have yet to reach.

Our second goal is to use this album and it’s subsequent video clip(s) to get into festival circuits where we can spread our message wider and also generate funds (through contracted concerts & album/merch sales) to allow us to engage in more sustainably-focused projects and make a more practical and positive impact in the communities we meet on our journey through South America.

The unique opportunity to record this album with Christian Castagno, a Grammy Award-winning producer who has worked with artists like Iggy Pop and Bomba Estéreo, has us filled with excitement and gratitude. On this album we are collaborating with many past SFP musicians as well as local musicians from northern Colombia.

To make this album possible, we need to raise funds to complete the costs of:
- Recording, mixing and mastering the album
- CD and USB album printing
- Video production fees
- Album cover artist fee
- Album merch production

This album will be a great step forward for The SoulFire Project. We're paying homage to lost loved ones and paying our respect to all the people we meet along this odyssey. We will be sharing all of the fruits of this labor with you upon the album's completion.

Your support in this effort means everything to us.
In the name of everything this will bring forth, please help us make the No Borders album a reality.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
GRACIAS!
