Hi, for those that don't know me my name is Jonathan, I'm 20 and from Milton Keynes, England! I have been accepted onto a disciple and leadership course run by Soul Edge Canada! I am a late addition to this years team, meaning I have just over a month to raise the funds needed to get to Canada, to pay for the course and buy the kit that will keep me warm in the chilly weather conditions of Vancouver Island.
Below is the overview of the course so you can check it out and see how I will be spending my 3 months in Canada. It is a packed schedule!
Overview of the course:
At the heart of Soul Edge Canada is the pursuit of wholistic growth, we want to see the next generation of young leaders raised up and changing the world. With the immersive lifestyle of 24/7 community, teaching, adventure and challenge we strive to leave you forever ruined for the ordinary. Each day will follow a routine: Quiet time - worship - teaching - fitness - teaching - afternoon activity. Saturday is a day for adventure and Sundays is practical ministry experience in the local Church. There is also a week long adventure and a short term mission trip to Kyuquot.

- 100 teaching sessions (From identity to Biblical history to leadership to spiritual gifts there's a whole range of topics we cover)

Soul Edge growth model:
Jesus had 12 disciples who he invested into for a relatively short period of time before sending them off to become world changers. Not a lot is known about how he did it on a day-to-day basis, but we know it was intentional and relational. So that's what we do!
- Each day starts with your Bible reading. We give you a reading plan which will see you finish the entire Bible on the course.
- After your bible reading we gather together to worship where the Holy Spirit has free reign.
- At least once a week you will have a designated time-slot to sit down with your mentor and hash out your questions.
- There are two teaching sessions a day in the morning and afternoon. Find your seat and grab your notebook.
I feel like God is in this, as He has guided me to this course and has been there helping me on my journey so far, and I am excited to see what He will do in me and through me while on this course and the fruits that come thereafter.
I feel like this course has the potential to be completely life changing for me. It would mean so much to me if you could help in anyway at all, that may be through prayer or by donating kit or money. I would be so grateful for whatever you can spare.
