It is with great sadness to inform friends and loved ones that on the evening of Wednesday, November 25, 2020 our family lost a treasured man, a beloved husband, father, uncle, and best friend to all, Juan Sotelo. Juan joined our family when he Married our aunt, Martha, in 1991. Those who know Martha know that she is like a mother to us. Juan was no different. Although he had his own children, he never hesitated to be a fatherly figure to us. Remembering back, Juan taught us how to drive, he would sit and watch sports with us, and he’d take us out to various events. Eventually Juan and Martha had a child of their own, Lizeth, and the family grew even more. He absolutely loved and adored his children and grandchildren.
Juan was a well rounded person. He LOVED sports (his favorite sport was baseball and his team was the LA Dodgers), he loved to read the newspaper, he liked politics (local and Mexican politics), and he liked going on road trips, and he especially liked taking his naps - it didn’t matter where.
Juan passed away at home of a massive heart attack. Emergency services did everything possible but it was god’s plan to take him to the kingdom above in the heavens. Even in death Juan continues to be a good person. Juan registered himself as an organ donor and, hopefully, though this he will help others improve their health and/or quality of life.
We are sad at the loss of our Uncle and it pains us more to reach out to you for some support. Arrangements for Juan’s services are underway. We would like to reach out to anyone who can help with a donation to ease the financial burden on the family. We know these are hard times for many of us given the pandemic, loss of employment, and the holidays coming up but any little help would go a long way.
Thank you all in advance for your kindness and generosity during this difficult time for our family.
