Nel 2019 tre artisti siciliani, Claudio Collova’, Alessandra Luberti e Miriam Palma, che lavorano nel campo della ricerca e della sperimentazione teatrale, musicale e vocale, si incontrano per realizzare un sogno.
Comprano con propri fondi un’antica falegnameria sita in uno dei posti più suggestivi di Palermo, Piazza Magione, confinante con lo Spasimo, per farne uno spazio aperto in grado di innescare processi creativi autonomi e indipendenti, di studio e di produzione aperto anche ad artisti ospiti. Offrire alla città un nuovo spazio di lavoro e di incontro in cui sarà possibile sentirsi parte di una comunità.
Ecco cosa è per noi Area Madera.
Nonostante la pandemia, la conseguente chiusura dei teatri e la crisi senza precedenti del settore, gli artisti di Area Madera non si sono mai fermati e hanno investito, nel rispetto delle regole, ogni ulteriore risorsa per andare avanti.
Adesso il nostro sogno potrebbe realizzarsi, ma abbiamo bisogno della forza dei nostri sostenitori.
La campagna di sostegno che lanciamo è stata pensata proprio perché da soli non riusciamo a mettere in sicurezza alcune parti dello spazio, lavori urgenti che necessitano di risorse.
Chiediamo solidarietà a tutte le persone che si sentono vicine al nostro sogno e credono che l’arte sia, oggi ancora di più, un bene prezioso da sostenere.

Support Area Madera Project
In 2019 Claudio Collovà, Alessandra Luberti and Miriam Palma three Sicilian artists who work with experimental music and contemporary dance and theatre, finally met to achieve a dream.
They bought with own funds an old carpenter’s building, placed in one of the most suggestive and central district in Palermo, piazza Magione, bordering with the monumental Gothic Church of Spasimo, to create an open space for starting creative process, study, projecting and ready to welcome guest and performing artists. A new space of work and meeting in the City of Palermo, able to create a feeling of community with a shared future. This is what Area Madera will be.
Although the pandemia, with the consequent closing of theatres, Area Madera artists have never stopped to invest their money to go on. Now our dream can become true and real, but we need people strength and support.
This campaign of crowdfunding can make us not to feel alone. We need to safeguard some parts of the building, urgent property renovation which we can face only with your help.
We ask to those who feel close to this project and believe art is still, today more than ever, an essential part of our life, to support us. We will do what is necessary to ensure the Area Madera project is successful.
