S.O.S.! Save Our Scooter!
Donation protected
On Monday night (December 2, 2024), our good friend Scooter was assaulted by a drunk in downtown Fort Walton Beach, FL. After two nights in the ER and multiple CT scans, we have some sense of what he’s suffered: a brain concussion, brain bleed, lumbar fracture, occipital fracture, and cochlear concussion in the right ear.
Scooter is recovering slowly, but remains in a great deal of pain. His balance has not returned, and he requires assistance to get around the house. Basic tasks such as reading demand intense focus and discomfort. He cannot taste food, and he has lost all hearing in his right ear. The doctors believe his hearing may never fully recover.
If you’re reading this, chances are you know Scooter well. If so, we don’t need to tell you how little he deserves this. Maybe he gave you a ride at 2am when no one else would pick up the call. Perhaps he left you a 100% tip because he felt you truly deserved it. Maybe he did nothing more than brighten up your day by being goofy and sincere. However he impacted you personally, we all love Scooter because he is thoughtful, selfless, and warm. He deserves to feel that warmth reflected back at him.
If at all possible, we humbly beg you to support him during this time of need. His medical bills are substantial, and only time will tell whether he requires further treatment. He is unable to work, and the injuries sustained may permanently impair his career. Every donation, no matter how small, eases that financial burden. Please join us in helping Scooter focus on what’s truly important: his recovery.
With love and thanks,
Scooter’s Friends and Family

P.S. Scooter refused to let us create this unless we made it clear that 100% of donations will go towards his medical expenses. If there are excess funds, he insists they will be donated to charity.
