O Conceição está a lutar pela vida.

Está internado com parvovirose, uma das doenças que mais mata cães jovens. Os 10 irmãos continuam no abrigo, muitos já com sintomas, e não temos como os isolar dos saudáveis.

Resgatámos esta ninhada de 11 cães há duas semanas. Foram apresentados como a nossa "seleção nacional", e até já apareceram na televisão.

Faziam parte dos cães que o dono da Matilha do Lavre trouxe para Palmela.

Resgatámos sem ter como: sem dinheiro, sem espaço. A alternativa era eles ficarem lá. No total, entre o primeiro e o segundo resgate acolhemos 25 cães da Matilha do Lavre que estão hoje distribuidos entre o nosso abrigo e famílias de acolhimento.

Mas agora chegou o pior. Depois de começar a apresentar sintomas, o Conceição foi internado quarta-feira, dia 8 de julho, e testou positivo a parvovirose.

Em apenas dia e meio, só o internamento do Conceição já ultrapassa os 700€.

E ele é um de onze. Não conseguimos suportar isto sozinhos, nem por ele, nem pelos irmãos.

Cada doação paga um dia de soro, testes, medicações.

Conceição is fighting for his life.

He's hospitalised with parvovirus, one of the diseases that kills the most young dogs. His 10 siblings are still at the shelter, many already showing symptoms, and we have no way to isolate them from the healthy ones.

We rescued this litter of 11 dogs two weeks ago. They were presented as our "national team," and even appeared on television.

They were among the dogs that the owner of Matilha do Lavre brought to Palmela.

We rescued them without the means to do it: no money, no space. The alternative was leaving them there. In total, between the first and second rescue, we took in 25 dogs from Matilha do Lavre, who today are split between our shelter and foster homes.

But now the worst has come. After starting to show symptoms, Conceição was hospitalised on Wednesday, 8 July, and tested positive for parvovirus.

In just a day and a half, Conceição's hospitalisation alone has already passed €700. And he's one of eleven. We can't carry this on our own — not for him, not for his siblings.
