S.O.S Hola Ola

Hello,
My name is Hannah Zucker, and I am currently working for Hola Ola Hostel, located in the small, yet beautiful beach town of San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua.
I am raising funds on behalf of my work team, composed mainly of Nicaraguans with children and limited resources.
The issue
Nicaragua, once one of Latin America´s hottest travel destination, has been suffering from a terrible and violent socio-political crisis that has resulted in the death of over 200 people, and the torture and disappearance of thousands.

The background
Hola Ola opened its doors on November 2nd, 2015, with 5 people on staff and the dream of krafting the perfect travel experience for the thousands of travelers that were coming each year to Nicaragua. Quickly after its opening, Hola Ola became the best rated hostel in the city, according to guests reviews on Hostelworld.com. For the last 2 years, Hola Ola has kept that reputable position, thanks to the effort and dedication of its workteam.
With the growing number of guests, Hola Ola also grew its team in order to keep providing the same quality of customer service. Today, the company employs 15 people, 12 of them Nicaraguans, for whom this job represents their family's only income.
Tourism has been the most affected sector in the economy. Tourists are gone. Most business related to hospitality have closed or are about to close. And while we are optimistic that this terrible crisis will be over soon, the truth is, we don´t know how long it is going to last.
Your impact
Given the circumstances, we - Hola Ola - have decided to use this channel as a way to raise funds and achieve our objective of keeping our business afloat during this difficult situation without having to leave anybody without a job. All the donations we receive will be used strictly to support and give stability to our staff.
In exchange of your donation, Hola Ola will send you a non-expiring, transferable accommodation voucher so that you or anybody you know can stay in our hostel, any time.
For every $10 you donate, you can book a night in a dorm for free. For every $30 you donate, you can choose to stay either 3 nights in a dorm, or a night in a private room instead.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, and hope to see you soon in Hola Ola so you can enjoy a fantastic vacation with our staff.
Sincerely,
Your Hola Ola Family
