SOS from Gaza: Help the Ziara Family Rebuild

Donation protected
Hello, my name's Fatma Ben Hamad . As an international journalist covering the war in Gaza, I've been following, accompanying and supporting the Ziara family since they evacuated northern Gaza in November 2023.
Here is their story.

Adam and Raghda Ziara, along with their three young children under ten, have lost everything – their home, their business, and their sense of security. Fortunalty, that didn't stop them from doing eveything for the suvival of their family.

Adam was a business owner. He sent pictures of the family shop near Jabalya camp in northern Gaza. It has been completly destroyed by Israeli bombing.
Raghda was a tv reporter. Both have lost any mean to earn a living since october 7.
Adam and his wife Raghda documented their journey -or rather journyes- since their first displacement: scavaging for shelter, food and clean water for their family ; trying to navigate the confusing evacuation orders to safe zones in the Gaza strip, given by the Israeli army ; dealing with daily bombing over their heads and trying to reassure their children that everything is going to be okay.

  • Living conditions in UNRWA, IDP and makeshift camps:
They are now living in a plastic tent on the beach in al-Zawaida, after being forced yet again to evacuate Rafah in early May. These are some video compilations showing their daily life in an IDP camp under the threat of Israeli raids.
Over the course of 6 months, they had to evacuate 13 times from each IDP camp they landed in, in southern Gaza, for fear of being killed by israeli bombs. In early May, fearing a possible invasion of Rafah, the family had to flee their camp yet again . To finance their evacuation, Adam sold his phone and some cigarettes. That bought them a plastic tent and a ride 16 kilometres north of Rafah.
They tell their latest evacuation story in this short video report:

Our urgent mission is to help the Ziara family cross the Egyptian border safely, as there is no other way to evacuate Gaza alive.
The cost to cross the border is exorbitant (around 5 000$ per person), and we need your help to raise the necessary funds for two adults and three children.

Your donations can make a life-saving difference for the Ziara family. The funds raised will be used to:

  • Provide essential supplies such as food, clothing, and basic necessities.
  • Cover the high costs of crossing the Egyptian border.
  • Offer the Ziara family a chance to rebuild their lives in safety either in another country or their own, after (or if) the war ends.

As a journalist, my mission is to tell the Ziaras story -with their own words and images- and as a human being, I can only help them by any means possible, and you can too!

We found a secure way; via Palestinian-British lawyer and human rights activist Dr.Rami Abdu; to send money for the Ziara family, every penny is precious.
I can post screenshots of the beneficiaries confirming receiving your donations

Thank you for you kindness and compassion,
for Adam and Raghda Ziara, and their three children
