Hi, my name is Ana and this fundraiser is for both my husband and our family. This is the story that has led us to need help. In March of 2022, my husband John was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident on his way home from work. Because of the accident, my husband was on disability for nearly four months and his vehicle to get to and from work was destroyed. We later found out that the scans that they took of him in the emergency room right after the accident showed that he already had cancer but it was overlooked by the hospital staff. The day my husband returned to work after having been on disability, our entire household came down with COVID that very same day and my husband had to quarantine and take off time from work again. After COVID, my husband kept experiencing hearing loss and what felt like clogging in his ears, mostly his left ear. His lymph nodes on both sides of his neck began to swell. He saw a doctor about this and was told it was just complications from COVID and they did a little slit to drain his ear. That didn't work. My husband then went to see an ENT doctor and he too said he just needed a plug in his ear and there was nothing to worry about regarding the swollen lymph nodes. In September of 2022, my husband had his yearly physical and his doctor was concerned about the swollen lymph nodes in my husband's neck and wanted him to see a specialist right away. That's when on September 16, 2022, my husband was diagnosed with stage 3 head and neck cancer (just days after his 55th birthday). Turns out he had had cancer all that time and it just kept getting overlooked and misdiagnosed. So cancer has not just been brutal on my husband physically, at times emotionally but financially. The medical bills and all bills are piling up and we need help so here we are asking, hoping and praying. My husband is the rock of our family and would do anything for us so now I'm asking for help for him and our family. The cancer journey is truly a horrible beast but my husband is a bigger beast and will overcome this but he needs help right now.
