Hello, my name is Abraham Cortes, and I am a friend of Isrrael Islas. We have been friends for just over 8 years and we come from the same town in Mexico. He has been a great and loyal friend to me.

Isrrael is originally from Actopan, Hidalgo, Mexico. He arrived here approximately six years ago with a job contract as a Carpenter. Isrrael was drawn to Vancouver for its diverse culture and Arts scene. He loves the art of Tattooing and is a big fan of soccer which he enjoys playing.

Isrrael is a very kind, respectful, and a giving person. He is the type of individual who would lend a helping hand without hesitation and expect nothing in return. It is for this reason, I feel I must return the favour and help him in his current situation.

On January 26th, 2026, Isrrael was taken to Burnaby General Hospital because he could not move both his right arm and right leg. He spent 2 days at Burnaby General Hospital before being transferred to Royal Columbian Hospital. While there, he has undergone two craniotomy abscess

surgeries. Currently, Isrrael’s condition remains unstable with no improvements to his dominate right-side gross motor skills. Isrrael has found himself in an extremely difficult situation as he has no medical insurance here in Canada at this time. The doctor and hospital bills continue to accumulate as Isrrael continues to push forward with his current state. It is for this reason, I am reaching out to our local community, friends and everyone across the globe for their support.

He has a long road to recovery, and we are asking for help with his rising medical costs. Anything helps, no amount is too small. We understand that times are tough for everyone with the rising costs of life , and we thank anyone who can donate. If you cannot donate monetarily, we ask that you please share his story to help spread the word as far as we can.

Hola, mi nombre es Abraham Cortes, y soy amigo de Isrrael Islas. Hemos sido amigos por mas de 8 años y venimos de la misma ciudad de México. Isrrael ha sido un gran y leal amigo para mí. Isrrael es originario de Actopan, Hidalgo, México. Llegó hace aproximadamente seis años con un contracto de trabajo como carpintero. Isrrael se sintió atraído por su diversa cultura y escena artística en Vancouver. Ha el le facina el arte del tatuaje y es un gran fanatico del fútbol, al que disfruta jugando.

Isrrael es una persona muy amable, respetuosa y generosa. Él es el tipo de individuo que prestaría ayuda sin dudarlo y sin esperar nada a cambio. Es por esta razón, que siento que debo regresa el favor, y ayudarlo en su situación actual.

El 26 de enero de 2026, Isrrael fue llevado al Hospital General de Burnaby porque no podía mover su brazo derecho como su pierna derecha. Pasó 2 días en el Hospital General de Burnaby antes de ser trasladado al Royal Columbian Hospital. Mientras estaba allí, se ha sometido a dos sirugias craneotomia de abscesos. Actualmente, la condición de Isrrael permanece inestable sin mejoras en sus habilidades motoras gruesas del lado derecho dominante.

Isrrael se ha encontrado en una situación extremadamente difícil, ya que en estos momentos se encuentra sin seguro medico en Canadá. Las facturas médicas y del hospital sigue acumulandose a medida que Isrrael continúa adelante con su estado actual. Es por esta razón, que yo pido

a nuestra comunidad local, amigos y a todos en todo el mundo para obtener su apoyo.

Isrrael tiene un largo camino hacia la recuperación, y estamos pidiendo ayuda para sus crecientes costos médicos.

Todo ayuda, ninguna cantidad es demasiado pequeña. Entendemos que los tiempos son difíciles para todos con el aumento de costo de vida, y agradecemos a cualquiera que pueda donar.
