Hace un mes, mi familia recibió una noticia devastadora. A nuestra mamá, Soraya Marcano, que tiene 59 años, dos hijos y un nieto de un año, le diagnosticaron un cáncer terminal de vesícula biliar que ha hecho metástasis. A month ago, my family received devastating news. My mom, Soraya Marcano, who is 59 years old with two sons and a one-year-old grandson, was diagnosed with terminal gallbladder cancer that has metastasized. Unfortunately, gallbladder cancer is often only diagnosed in advanced stages, with no cure. The doctors have told us there’s nothing further that they can do for her and that they can only give her palliative treatment to give her quality of life.

My mom has spent almost four weeks in the hospital fighting an infection caused by the tumor blocking her bile. She was sent home yesterday with a palliative treatment plan but needs round-the-clock care to ensure she is stable and getting her treatment. As you can imagine, this kind of care has been and will continue to be very costly. We hope to relieve some of that financial burden for her and my family. Any money donated will be used for my moms care, housing, nursing, and medicines.
