Sophie’s Medical Journey
Donation protected
Hi, I am one Sophie Blanton’s grandmothers. For the last nineteen months Sophie has been on a medical journey that has had many curves and bumps. She has been though two bone marrow transplants in an effort to better her health. Sophie is 20 years old and has fought ITP, which is a blood disorder that has caused the loss of blood platelets. Soon after these diagnosis Sophie was diagnosed with Common Variable Immune Deficiency, which requires monthly IV infusions and close watch on surroundings health wise. Sophie has suffered from many infections as a result. Sophie was offered a bone marrow transplant (BMT) by her immunologist. He shared that the BMT would/could give Sophie the chance at a healthier life.
The first BMT which started 7/6/20 was unsuccessful. A second BMT started early 2021 and the results have been less than favorable. Sophie has spent as much time in the hospital as at home in the last 19 months. Sophie’s mother has been with her inpatient and when at home since the beginning and unable to work. Sophie’s father has done his best to keep the home fires burning trying to make ends meet with his income when there was once two incomes.
I am asking that if you are able that you help us lighten the load of Sophie’s family economically by donating to our GoFundMe account.
You can also help through your prayers and sharing this post for others who might be able to help.
Thank you from our family for any assistance you might be able to share.
