Sophie’s Journey to Miss Ireland
Donation protected
My name is Sophie Murphy, I’m an outgoing, enthusiastic 23-year-old girl from Kilcullen, County Kildare. I’m delighted to announce that I’ve made it through to the final of Miss Ireland 2025 and as I prepare for this exciting journey, I am currently seeking sponsorship to support me during the campaign.
The sponsorship package requires a €1,500 contribution, which will help to cover a variety of aspects to the competition. This includes tutorials, workshops, photoshoots and the final event, which takes place in March 2025. Please note that any excess contributions will be donated to The Children’s Health Foundation.
I have always appreciated the sense of community in Kilcullen and I’m hoping that this amazing community can get behind me and support my journey to Miss Ireland.
Why am I taking part in Miss Ireland and what do I hope to achieve?
Like most young girls, as I was growing up, I constantly looked for women I looked up, related to and admired – some of which, were previously crowned Miss Ireland. I found that this helped in reminding me of the person I aspired to be and guided me through difficult stages, where I lost sight of that person. I looked up to these women for many reasons - because I liked what they stood for, their outlook on life, how they treated others, what was important to them or how they made such efforts to raise awareness and make a positive difference towards the things that lay close to their hearts.
Having someone to look up to is really important, they keep us motivated to do better and as long as I keep striving to do better, I’ll keep finding someone to look up to.
As we all know, the ‘perfect person’ does not exist. However, I would love to take the opportunity of being Miss Ireland to act as a role model for the women across Ireland and to make a positive difference to the things that mean a lot to me.
As a person, I have a keen interest in fashion and beauty, health sciences and sports, particularly GAA and rugby. I believe that my multifaceted passions reflect my dynamic personality and positive attitude towards leading a balanced, healthy lifestyle.
My Beauty with a purpose campaign....
I am a huge advocate for mental health and building emotional/mental resilience. Drawing from my own personal experiences with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Depersonalisation Disorder (DPD), putting efforts into better managing our minds and harvesting healthier, more positive thought processes is vital. I also believe that OCD is often misunderstood and under-discussed. Therefore, I aim to raise awareness and provide support for those facing similar challenges to me.
At the age of 16, I volunteered at a girls' rescue centre in Kenya, an experience that profoundly impacted my perspective on life and helping others. I see taking part in Miss Ireland as an opportunity to amplify my efforts in helping those less fortunate and those in need.
Due to my area of work in healthcare, I am often exposed to the heart-breaking reality for so many sick children in Ireland. The horrific circumstances that the families of sick children have to endure is unimaginable and with this in mind, I would like to put a particular emphasis on raising awareness and funds for charities that provide support to sick children and their families throughout my journey with Miss Ireland.
Thank you in advance for your time an support, it is hugely appreciated!
