Sophie's Emergency Vet Costs

Hi, I'm Christine and I'm starting this fundraiser on behalf of my best friends. Mary, James, and Weston came to see me and spend the night in Boston to go to Fenway for their very first time. It was great! The next day we spent out and about in the city, also a wonderful day, until, Mary received a devastating call while we were riding the train back home. Their dog, Sophie, a Yorkie, was staying with family while they were here on their overnight. Sophie ran out of their yard and got into an altercation with another dog.

Sophie is a very tough little lady, but also very small. Luckily the family members Sophie was staying with got her to the emergency vet at Mill Valley in Belchertown. At Mill Valley Sophie had stitches and tubes put in because the bite marks are extremely deep. They could not repair her dislocated shoulder and elbow, nor did they have the ability to fix her jaw. She is currently in emergency care at Tufts in Grafton.

What should have just been a great time for a family making memories turned into a complete nightmare. They had to rush home from Boston to get back to their little Sophie, not knowing exactly the extent of the injuries and feeling totally helpless until they could get to her. They then had to rush her from Belchertown to Grafton and are all currently at Tufts with her, hoping for the best.

I'm hoping that this GoFundMe can help defer some of Sophie's medical costs for them to take some of the stress off and not turn what should have been a great couple days of making memories as a family into a terrible memory and financial burden.
