Sophie’s adventure to the Royal Academy of Music

I’ve made this go fund me to aid my tuition fees to attend the Royal Academy of Music. I’m so excited to be taking the next step in my career and would greatly appreciate any donations you are able to make.
In September I will be heading to study my trumpet masters in London! I’ll be living overseas for 2 years learning all I can about music and trumpet with the goal of playing in a symphony orchestra.
I’ll primarily be learning off Mark David (Head of Brass at the Royal Academy and plays with the Academy of St Martins in the Fields).
I will also learn from Paul Beniston, Will O’SullIvan, Gareth Small, and have some time learning natural trumpet with John Hutchins. The Royal Academy brass department also collaborates with Jeroen Berwaerts as the professor in residence, who I will engage with eight times a semester!
As well as my study I will have the opportunity to listen to some of the world’s leading orchestras such at the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic, Philharmonia, BBC…and so many more!
Studying and living overseas is a big investment in my career, and a significant financial investment. While I have been delighted to receive a partial scholarship from RAM, there is still a large gap. Any support large or small is warmly welcomed.
