Help Sophie Recover: Endometriosis Surgery Fund

Donation protected
Hi, Sophie here.

I am reaching out with vulnerability and hope as I navigate a challenging chapter in my life.

For those who may not know, I have been dealing with multiple disabilities and diseases for several years now. Though I have a brain disease, fibromyalgia, connective tissue disorders and more, one of the worst conditions I suffer with is my endometriosis.

My endometriosis is considered stage four (out of four), and affects nearly all of my abdominal organs. When it was diagnosed in 2021 the surgeon said it was the worst case he had seen. What should have been an hour under the knife and an outpatient procedure ended up being nearly eight hours in the OR and four days hospitalized.

Though mostly all of the endometriosis was removed that day, because of the nature of my illness and the progression of my condition, the symptoms and the endometriosis growth itself came back pretty quickly after and have since become very debilitating, to the point of falling scares, mobility aids, and more.

After thorough consultation with my medical team, we have determined that a hysterectomy is the most effective path towards a healthier future.

Why I Need Your Help:
The cost of the surgery, medical expenses, and recovery are substantial, and I am reaching out to my community for support. Your generosity can make a profound impact on my journey to wellness.

How Your Contribution Helps:
Your donations will directly contribute to covering the expenses of the surgery, post-operative care, and necessary medical support. Because I need to take time off, I also will be covering rent expenses for six weeks, as well as utilities, lost income, and bills.

Every dollar brings me one step closer to a life free from the challenges of endometriosis. Whatever I don’t use I will pay forward to my fellow community members in Tucson.

About Me:
For those who may not know me well, I am a self taught artist and illustrator, as well as recently, a tattooer. I am nonbinary and proudly queer. I have a passion for being who I am and making sure that those around me feel safe and comfortable being who they are.

My favorite thing about tattooing is making sure that people feel safe, comfortable, and happy in my chair. I love connecting with my clients and making new friends within the Tucson community. Your support not only helps me but also sustains my ability to continue creating art that brings joy to others.

What Your Support Means:
Your support means a new chance to experience life. It is not just financial assistance; it is a lifeline, a message of solidarity, and a beacon of hope during a challenging time.

All I want to do is make art for others and live my life a little less in pain. I am immensely grateful for any contribution, big or small. I will keep you updated on my progress, milestones, and the impact of your contributions.

Your kindness will not go unnoticed, and I will express my gratitude every step of the way. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Together, we can turn the page to a healthier, happier chapter.

Please consider contributing and sharing this campaign with your network. Your support is truly a gift.

All my love,
Sophie
