Ryan & Ashley Hogue for baby Sophie
Donation protected
Sophie Lucille Hogue was born 4/30/16 at 4 pounds 8 ounces and 16.5” long to Ryan, Ashley, and big brother Oscar. She was taken from UW to Seattle Children’s immediately after birth to begin testing her symptoms of a chromosome issue and heart defect which they found during pregnancy. Her condition was so rare that they had very little case studies to refer to. Unfortunately, even with the help of the best doctors in the world, there was more to Sophie’s condition than they expected. Specifically, her breathing could not get under control enough for her to undergo the surgeries that were needed to save her life.
Ashley and Ryan have spent every day at the hospital with Sophie since her birth, giving her every ounce of love they have and spending all the time she has left here on earth right by her side. This was just a battle that Sophie's perfect little body could not handle.
If you are the praying kind, or the throw good thoughts in the universe kind, please pray/wish for extra strength for Ryan and Ashley and their family at this time. They are exhausted physically, mentally, and spiritually as you can imagine.
With all of this sadness, the last thing we want their family to face is an additional financial burden due to burial expenses. They will be laying Sophie to rest in a beautiful spot in Bellevue, where they will be able to visit her, and where she will be surrounded by other family members.
Ryan and Ashley are always the ones that give so much of themselves and are the ones helping others in any way they can and donating their time and money. It's our turn to show them our support and help them in their time of need. As Ashley said, "they have never felt such love, generosity, and compassion from anybody like this before and it has definitely lifted a burden and relieved a layer of stress." Lets continue to help relieve layers of stress for them!
In memory of Sophie Lucille Hogue... thank you for your generosity and for giving this little family the extra help they need and deserve right now.
