Sophie Cowley has been suffering from chronic migraines, dizziness and fatigue for over 2 1/2 years. She had seen practically every doctor imaginable with no luck and no accurate diagnosis until her symptoms worsened in May, leaving her bed-bound and confined to a wheelchair. At this point she was diagnosed with myalgic encephalomyelitis, also known as chronic fatigue syndrome. According to the CDC, "Chronic fatigue syndrome, or CFS, is a debilitating and complex disorder characterized by profound fatigue that is not improved by bed rest and that may be worsened by physical or mental activity. Symptoms affect several body systems and may include weakness, muscle pain, impaired memory and/or mental concentration, and insomnia, which can result in reduced participation in daily activities." CFS has no cure.
The smallest routine activities, such as texting, listening to music, and eating, are exhausting and practically impossible for Sophie. Sophie desparately needs to see a CFS specialist to reclaim her health, and explore every option possible. Yet, appointments for specialists can cost as much as $1,000 per visit, not including treatments.
Please help Sophie combat the chronic pain and fatigue she faces daily. She is a truly kind, brilliant and inspiring person and she can't fight this alone.
