On the night of January 4, 2018, Eric Mikulas was found unresponsive by his 10 year old daughter, Sophie, and was unable to be revived by EMS. Eric was an old friend to many, and a new friend to many more in the local information security community. He was my close personal friend for more than 25 years. His passing will have an impact on anyone who knew him, but without a doubt, the person who will be most affected is Sophie.
Eric had a lucrative career in infosec, so his passing brings a significant financial impact as well. While we can't help her forget the loss of her father, we can, at the very least, provide Sophie with some relief with regards to her future.
This campaign is intended to raise money that will ultimately be used to fund Sophie Mikulas' education. It will be given directly to her mom, Heather Manzo, and will be kept in a fund that will allow it to grow until she needs it.
Let's do our best to give Eric and Heather’s little girl the brightest future possible. Any donation will help.
