Since 1983 Sophie has been running games and organizing events for gamers all across the Pacific Northwest.
She has playtested countless games, offering insights and support to new developers.
She organized weekly Warhammer 40K events and convention-based tournaments from 1997-1999.
She supported and built up the Seattle based gaming communities from 2004-2009.
She was the key organizer of local gaming groups that joined forces to organize Emerald City Gamefest from 2006 to 2015.
She was a key organizer of Dragonflight from 2007 to 2017.
She was a key organizer of ConQuest NW from 2007 to 2009.
She volunteered for Pacificon from 2011 to 2015.
Near to my heart, she was the Games on Demand host and then later the entire events coordinator at Big Bad Con from 2011 to present.
She's written reviews for RPG.net.
She's the Evil Hat Fate Line project manager and has shepherded over a dozen fate publications.
She also has cancer. In March of 2016, Sophie was diagnosed with breast cancer. She's endured chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, pulmonary embolisms, appendicitis, and countless hospital visits.
Medical bills are unrelenting and they've surpassed what Sophie and her husband Edmund can cover, even after insurance. Sophie has also been unable to work during much of this time and Edmund has spent much of his time supporting her.
We're starting this GoFundMe campaign to help Sophie and Ed pay their lingering debts and afford to pay the rent as well.
