Donation protected
Gymnasts Sophie Sanders, Daisy Clayton and Matilda Clayton from Honiton Gymnastics Club in Devon have been selected to represent England at the Caledonia International in April 2024.

The trio, an Acrobatic Gymnastics Women’s Group, have been training together since summer 2023 and have already achieved numerous titles, including:
• 2023 South West Champions at IDP 1 level
• 2023 National Pat Wade Classic Champions at IDP 1 level
• 2024 English Champions at IDP 1 level
• 2024 South West Prelims winners at IDP 2 level
The girls’ hard work and commitment have earned them a well-deserved spot to represent their country at the prestigious Caledonia International competition which takes place in Motherwell, Scotland, at the beginning of April.

Individual Achievements
Matilda and Daisy, both 16, have been members of Honiton Gymnastics Club since 2016. They have progressed through the grades and competed in various partnerships, achieving commendable results, including finishing seventh at the British Championships last year.
Sophie, aged 9, joined the club in 2020 and has shown exceptional talent and determination.
She competed in the National Development Plan finals last year, finishing in ninth position in Grade 3 Women’s Groups.
All three gymnasts started off in recreational pay-as-you-go classes at Honiton Gymnastics Club before being selected to train in competitive squads.
They now train 14 hours per week at the club.

Club’s first National selection
Despite Honiton Gymnastics Club producing numerous British and National Development Plan Champions over the years, Sophie, Daisy and Matilda’s selection is a significant milestone for the club.
Helen Reddy, the girls’ coach and choreographer, said: “Honiton Gymnastics Club is extremely proud of the trio’s achievements as they become the first gymnasts from the club to be selected for the national team.
This is a great honour and we wish them all the luck in the world. The whole of Honiton Gymnastics Club will be cheering them on from afar”.

Support for the journey
In order to compete at the Caledonia International the gymnasts need to fund their own trip, including travel expenses, accommodation, entry fees and England kit.
As the competition is entirely self-funded we have set up a Go Fund Me page to seek support from the community.
Any contribution towards the girls’ journey to Scotland at the beginning of April is greatly appreciated and will help them showcase their talent on an international stage.
Thank you to everyone that has made and bought cakes and already kindly donated.
